Family Dwelling
TYPE OF SCHEME: Residential
LOCATION: Northumberland
Design for a family home in rural countryside surrounded by woodland. The two-storey dwelling was designed with modern methods of construction techniques. The aesthetic reflects the local vernacular adopting a stone outer skin which is complemented with larch timber cladding and aluminium framed glazing. A south facing greenhouse and double height space support the families desire to grow their own plants. The addition of a double height hallway with floor to ceiling windows is a real central focus to the dwelling, opening up the property to external light and the views of the countryside. A flexible internal arrangement supports a perfect space for both entertaining and relaxing.
