Residential Conversion and Extension in Whitley Bay
The 100 year old building on Marine Avenue was in a poor state following many years being run as a large, 32 bedroom residential care facility. The original building structure had been altered significantly and a number of poor quality extensions added during the 1970s to obscure the Victorian character of the building.
We were part of the team tasked with converting the property back into a private dwelling and bringing back to life the grand Victorian home with fully restored original features throughout the main building. The building was converted with a level of care and attention to detail that paid homage to the 100-year-old history of the property using original materials and traditional methods wherever possible.
The completed property was successfully shortlisted for a RICS Renaissance Award in 2013 in both the residential and conservation categories.
