Blake Hopkinson worked with accountancy firm, Blu Sky Chartered Accountants to renovate and redesign their corporate HQ based within a former 100 year old pub in North Shields.
The Old Hundred Pub was completely renovated to make way for a new look contemporary office space which incorporated the strong brand identify of Blu Sky and supported a flexible working environment for staff. The old wooden bar was shortened and retained as a central focal point to support communal working and a number of small meeting rooms – known as ‘havens’ – for private workspace. The former lounge area of the bar offered the perfect opportunity to create an open-plan desk arrangement with all furniture installed and supplied by the Human Office.
The main conference room and kitchen double up as breakout areas for staff for a more agile working environment and all workspace has been designed to support movement around the office with desktop power points and data access. The brief from Blu Sky clearly stated that the office needed to support a flexible environment and help staff make use of technology to stay in contact with clients. A key point met by Blake Hopkinson by incorporating technology into all meeting areas.
