Stannington Residential Scheme Released for Sale

Residential developments have been a cornerstone of our work since the practise opened its doors 11 years ago. During that time we’ve worked on large-scale residential schemes, new build homes and some truly unique Grand Designs style properties that have brought real flair to our portfolio and developed unique skills amongst our team.

We are delighted to see that another of our residential projects has been released for sale at The Stables in Stannington. This bespoke collection of 5 properties is currently under construction by JD Homes in Northumberland with the first property due for completion by the end of the year.

Priced from £325,000, the properties consist of a range of 3/4 bedroom detached styles including two-storey homes and bungalows. The development is located on Station Road in Stannington and is now available via selling agents Sanderson Young.

The five individual house types follow the equine theme of the development with each property named after a famous racecourse – the Epsom, Cheltenham and Ascot. Available house types include two three-bedroom bungalows, two three- bedroom homes and one four-bedroom property.

JD Homes is the residential building division of JD Joinery and Building Services – a long time construction partner of Blake Hopkinson Architects. We have worked with the team at JD on some of our most high profile building schemes, including the landmark low-energy home at Little Elms in Gosforth.

The design of the properties was influenced by a more classic exterior to mirror the semi-rural nature of the wider location. Contemporary touches have been added throughout with a specific focus on incorporating advance construction techniques designed to dramatically improve energy consumption and allow each property to offer advanced smart home capabilities.

Darren Blake, partner at Blake Hopkinson said: “It’s always a great pleasure to work with building contractors who are looking to really push the envelope when it comes to traditional residential design. The team at JD Homes have the skills and experience to bring a new dimension to the build process and we wanted to match that at the design stage by incorporating their fabric-first focus into the design.

“The resulting development will be a strong addition to the local area and offer much sought after high quality homes to the people of Northumberland.”

Joe Dixon, MD of JD Homes comments: “This is the first collection from JD Homes to bring together the skilled, fabric-first construction know-how of our experienced team with the stylish and practical design expertise of Blake Hopkinson.

“Each property will feature high specification fixtures and fittings from some of the region’s most sought after kitchen and bathroom specialists in addition to a range of additional features designed to complement the generous and considered layout of each home.

“Homes at The Stables will also be fitted with market-leading smart home technology to balance the classic external design with ready-to-use contemporary technology.

“We believe this to be a landmark housing collection for the area and expect the resulting development to be very popular with homebuyers looking for the perfect family home offering in-demand low-energy credentials.”
