Simon Rutter Promoted to Partner

We are delighted to announce the promotion of associate Simon Rutter to the role of partner at Blake Hopkinson.

Simon joined our team back in 2011 after 17 years with Ryder Architecture in Newcastle. Since joining, he has been pivotal in managing a number of large-scale projects and helped the business expand through a number of notable schemes in the residential and commercial sector.

Simon commented: “I’ve spent 33 years working within the North East architectural industry and during that time I have been fortunate to work on a strong portfolio of high profile schemes both inside and outside of the region.

“Since joining Blake Hopkinson Architecture six years ago, I’ve relished being part of an ambitious and growing firm at what was a key stage in my career. The dynamic team are always a pleasure to work alongside and I am proud to now be taking on a leadership role to shape a positive future for the firm as partner. “

Simon will now join founding partners Darren Blake and James Hopkinson in the newly expanded leadership team at Blake Hopkinson.

Darren Blake said: “When Simon first joined us it was clear he shared the same vision, drive and passion for quality architectural design as both myself and James. We have always tried to challenge accepted notions for building design – particularly in the sheltered and affordable housing sector – and Simon has a clear understanding of what we as a business need to succeed.

“Simon has brought a number of interesting projects into Blake Hopkinson through his many connections, excellent client relationships and strong reputation for delivery within the industry.

“We are looking forward to an exciting future with our new partnership team leading our talented workforce.”
